Openet Telecom Has Deployed FusionWorks ActiveCharge

Openet Telecom, a world leader in real-time charging, rating and convergent mediation, today announced that a leading tier-one operator in the Pacific region has deployed its real-time ActiveCharge solution. The carrier, which for reasons of commercial confidence, cannot be disclosed, delivers wireless and wireline services to a multi-million subscriber base and is its country's leading ISP.

Openet’s solution replaces the operator’s existing data mediation system and adds new functionality to the customer accounting architecture. FusionWorks ActiveCharge puts interactive mediation between the network and the operator’s back-office business systems, correlating and aggregating a complex array of information coming from the operator’s 2.5G and 3G network and service elements and turning it into meaningful and chargeable records that downstream systems can understand. Phase one of the project, supporting contract customers, is complete and operational. The second phase of the project, scheduled for completion before the end of 2005, will extend the capability to prepaid customers, providing a convergent solution across the customer base.

"We were delighted to win this contract following a highly-competitive due diligence process involving a range of vendors,” said John Rainger, CEO Openet Telecom. “This deployment of FusionWorks ActiveCharge demonstrates the value and benefits of our real-time, configurable and scalable charging solutions to competitive network operators and establishes a strong foothold for Openet in the Asia Pacific market. It also validates Openet’s pioneering work in delivering the real-time charging and active mediation that operators need to fully exploit the revenue-generating potential of new network services-whether wireless or wireline, whether pre- or post-paid,” Rainger added.

Openet’s new customer joins a tier one user base which includes Verizon, British Telecom, Cingular, France Telecom Orange Group and Telecom Italia Mobile
