9/12/2005Marrakech Opens US Head-Quarters As Recruitment Drive Kicks Off - European company set to change the face of US spend management market with on-demand software service
September 12, 2005 - Marrakech has launched its campaign to derive 25% of its business from the US with the opening of head-quarters in San Francisco.
The on-demand spend management specialist is now aggressively recruiting sales and support staff.
"The US market represents a huge opportunity," said David Hsieh, president of US operations at Marrakech. "E-procurement is perfect for the on-demand model because it combines immediate ROI and low risk. With our European customers expanding to US deployments, Marrakech is well positioned to lead the US market too."
The US management team brings together two veterans of the on-demand movement who have helped to pioneer this approach in previous roles at US companies.
The former vice-president of on-demand web conferencing expert WebEx, David Hsieh, is responsible for overseeing the US operation.
He has over 15 years' sales and marketing experience in the technology sector working in senior positions for Sybase, LBMS and FaceTime Communications. US marketing will be lead by Lars Christensen, previously the marketing director for on-demand CRM leader salesforce.com.
"We've delivered over 10 per cent cuts in total indirect costs that boosted business profitability by at least 1 per cent for our customers. Marrakech solutions can be rolled out in as little as 30 days - we aim to do for spend management what salesforce.com has done for CRM," he added.
Marrakech's customers include Tesco, Alstom, Impress Group and Criminal Justice Information Technology.
