10/4/2005Telscape Selects Openet To Bring Business Agility In New Service Offerings Openet selected to replace legacy mediation platform from Ericsson to assure voice revenue and bring agility to the launch of converged IP services such as VoIP and Data ahead of business expansion and growth.
Dublin, Ireland and Reston, VA, 4th October 2005
Openet Telecom, a world leader in real-time charging, advanced mediation, and network-edge rating, today announced that it has signed a contract to supply its FusionWorks Mediation solution to Telscape, a competitive CLEC focusing on the US Hispanic market. The solution has recently gone into production.
The initial stage of the project will see complete replacement of the legacy Ericsson BMP mediation solution with a specific focus on numerous areas of possible revenue leakage. With a 100% audit trail of all usage and customer maintainable configurations, the initial deployment of the new system will ensure Telscape has a solid foundation upon which to further grow its revenue.
“Our existing mediation solution was developed a number of years ago and is outdated,” commented Louis Cheng, Vice President of Information Technology at Telscape. “It is not easy to make configuration changes and it is difficult to balance and reconcile. We needed a solution we could maintain and operate with 100% visibility for the business moving forward”, added Cheng.
Future phases of the project will see the addition of new IP products and new ILEC suppliers, both of which Telscape will implement and manage both of which Telscape will implement and manage through easy configuration of business logic.
“We are delighted to welcome Telscape to the Openet family and our increasing list of wireline operators.” stated John Rainger, CEO of Openet. “Openet is well known for supplying solutions to the world’s leading wireless operators, but this important contract is a clear signal that wireline operators are beginning to see real business value in our solutions as they move into the next generation of networks and services. The wireline operator community is now a real focus for everyone in Openet”, added Rainger.
